A permanent cashier role within a catering environment, responsible for handling customer transactions, ensuring a smooth checkout experience, and assisting with food preparation and serving. The cashier is the primary point of contact for customers at the checkout and contributes to the overall store environment, customer satisfaction, and operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality meals, fast foods, and sandwiches.
• Hygiene & Standards: Maintain high hygiene and cleaning standards.
• Cash Handling: Maintain all cash-handling procedures and follow cash management policies to ensure accountability.
• Controls & Stock: Assist in implementing and enhancing unit controls, especially related to cash; assist with stock-takes.
• Customer Service: Establish warm, sincere contact with all customers and consistently provide exceptional service.
• Till Operations: Exercise product knowledge; complete cash and card transactions accurately, completely, and efficiently.
• Food Quality & Presentation: Prepare items quickly but carefully to assure high quality and consistency; present items attractively.
• Loss Prevention: Keep loss prevention guidelines in mind at all times.

Qualifications

• Education: Matric (Grade 12).
• Skills & Competencies:
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
• Previous cash handling experience.
• Proven customer relations skills.
• Punctual and presentable.
• Ability to work without constant supervision.
• Proven track record.
• High hygiene and quality standards.
